Morocco & Egypt
In March of 2024, I experienced Africa for the first time during spring break with some of my classmates from college. We spontaneously decided to visit Marrakesh, Morocco, which turned out to be straight out of a dream. I never could have imagined that my first visit to Africa would come from a last-minute “why not?” with 30 classmates. From riding camels while watching the sun set over sand dunes, to seeing dancing cobras in the street markets and hearing prayers from mosque speakers, every moment felt surreal and unforgettable.
That summer, my best friend invited me to her brother’s wedding in Alexandria, Egypt. The celebration was so beautiful and fun, filled with music, dancing, stunning dresses, henna, and delicious food. After the wedding, a few friends and I headed to the North Coast of Egypt, where we found the most beautiful beach with crystal-clear water and tall palm trees. On the drive back to the Cairo airport, I even caught my first glimpse of a World Wonder—the Great Pyramids!!
Next on my travel bucket list: a safari.
